A Reflection on Diwali

Nature’s Diwali
I’m watching the yellow leaves of white birch trees twirl and glow gold in the evening sun.
A light breeze and Nature’s wealth showers down in a heap of gold coins around my feet, to become the rich brown earth feeding the roots of our woodland.
I am reminded of Diwali lamps twinkling and flickering, flames floating above pools of oil held in clay cups.
A reminder of my own Tree of Life within - that strong centre where I go to be nourished by my own inner peace - the spiritual gold.
The real Diwali is a becoming; a shining out of the heart, through the eyes, and sets the soul singing on the crown of the head, in a bright aura
Life’s lessons, and past experiences have been breathed out and laid at the feet of Mother Earth as I relax into Her embrace.
They have made me strong. Tested me through time.
Watching and being in this moment of beauty, I tend the light within.

Nature’s Glow:

Harnessing the Power of Herbs and Foods for a Radiant Diwali

A theme that popped up in our Meditation Mondays and Wellbeing Wednesdays ladies circles this Diwali time, was Gratitude.

Diwali is a celebration all over the world that brings people together, removing barriers and spreading joy. The Festival of Lights (Dipa - awali), when the Goddess Laxmi brings wealth and prosperity to humanity, has been held for thousands of years and has carried a deep message of hope for an awakening of our own spiritual awareness.

There is so much we already have that we take for granted, and yet we always want more.  So we explored the idea of wealth in a broader sense. We appreciated the priceless gifts of physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. And one of the greatest sources of this kind of wealth is nature itself.

Herbs and spices have been used for centuries to promote health and well-being. They are packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that can help boost our immune systems, improve our mood, and protect us from disease. They are food and like all food, they are powerful medicines. Eating a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains can help us feel our best.

Let’s celebrate the true meaning of prosperity by taking care of our physical, emotional, and spiritual health. By incorporating herbs and food as medicine into our daily lives, we can create a more vibrant and fulfilling life for ourselves and our loved ones.
